Filomena Famighetti, 89, Poughkeepsie Resident

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Poughkeepsie resident Filomena "Phylis" Famighetti died Monday, May 16. She was 89.

While raising her family, Famighetti worked as a clerk for the New York Police Department in Manhattan.

Upon moving to Poughkeepsie, she became a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. 

Famighetti is survived by her son, Thomas Famighetti and his wife, Joyce DiBonaventura; her sisters, Mary Perillo and her husband, Gregory and Madeline "Babe" Ciani; her grandchildren, Rafael and Julia; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband, Anthony J. Famighetti, she was predeceased by her son, Robert; her brother, Daniel Venditti; and her parents, Michele and Cristina Baratta Venditti. 

A funeral service was scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, May 20, at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton St., Wappingers Falls.
